    OEM coupe E30 door seals pre and post 87

    I bought a new E30 door seal from BMW for the 87 325is and it looks like the seal is about 2-3 inches too short.

    Looks like Jordan had the same experience:


    ETK only shows one part number for all years.

    Looks like cutting it and putting a gap piece from the old seal is going to be the only option.

    Anyone else experience this?

    Had the same deal on my e23 745i. They superseded to the rear door seals regardless of what you ordered. Of course, smaller door opening, smaller (shorter) seal. So yeah that's exactly what I did, cut in a section of the old seal which of course leaves two junctions which of course sucks.

    Probably some bean counter's decision; they just looked at the numbers saw that the rear was cheaper to make and went with it.
