Have you thought about making the mounting bolts through the front subframe? On my skid that's where I have them (through two holes that are already there, which I slightly bored out to allow me to use BIG bolts). Might provide a bit of additional structural support and also makes that "S" bend at the back end unnecessary (so you could possibly make them cheaper).

Here's a pic of my setup for rallycross. You can see the bolts on the left, with some small spacers between the skid and the subframe (which I've since removed).

Anyhow, just an idea to make it easier to make, and to allow for some more stout bolts that, if broken somehow, won't screw up the PS rack as well (in theory).
I looked at those....might have to look at them again. Thanks!

Test fitting one of these on my iX on Friday. Got my fingers crossed that it'll work okay, if not my eta gets it!

Seen the one installed on Simon's (2man) car. Thing is BEEFY, just carrying the plate around my garage I can tell it's a strong piece. Will keep you all posted.

Cool, I also ask since I"m about to put an M42 in my car and might want a skid in slightly heavier material than my current one ;)

Sorry, slightly OT, but have you been damaging the upper and lower ones, or just cracking the lower pan?

Thanks! I didn't expect this much response. Been pretty busy at work this week but should have more cut out and bent by friday.

Kind of a crazy week. I'll see if I can get time to actually install one on my new car and I'll get some pics as I go. Next week I'll be in some more training.....we'll see how it goes.
