Slow going on the engine. Can't rush my machinist since he's the best guy in town. ;-) He actually found we needed new valve guides, so those are on order. Valves and valve seats are re-ground, piston skirts shaved, head decked, bores honed. Head checked out straight. Will get some pics when I go over there.

Big box of parts coming from Ireland Engineering this week: adjustable cam gear, HD rocker arms, ARP head studs, MLS head gasket, oil pan baffle and crank scraper.

Gotta Zen Out while everything comes together.

He didn't actually do your valve seats if me guides are on order :)

My machinist is like Quantum Mechanics. "Was Done", "Will Be Done" and "Am Doing" all exist simultaneously and superimposed until you actually see the work.

                          Valve guide blues

This is a valve guide for those who've never seen one. I hadn't before this adventure.

They are supposed to be 13 mm OD standard diameter. I figured this was the first replacement so I ordered the 13.05 mm "1st replacement".

Machinist calls me today after removing the old valve guides. They are 13.22 mm. WTF? My head has apparently had a couple of valve jobs in its life. Re-ordered 13.25 mm guides from Pelican.

Ugh. Paying $50 overnight shipping for $50 valve guides sucks but at least the machining gets done this week.

if the guides aren't snug they ream the head and go to the next oversize. I've replaced 2 sets and not had to do that but my machinist always knocks one out to check before ordering...but you've figure that out, haven't you :)

Just found your build, great work!

I'm needing some help with this wonderful wiring harness... can you post how you made it so simple?

Will be glad to share the wiring harness build guide. We're just getting into engine re-assembly now, so may be a couple of week. On the plus side I'm sure it's what you will need.
