Whatshould I use to flush out my diff

I have my P/F E30 320i diff out and the cover off. The oil was very black and has left a lot of residue inside the case. Is there a solvent I can flush out the case with that won't damage any seals or bearings?

brakleen should be fine, so long as you don't try to run the diff with just brakleen in it... or you could take a paper towel and some elbow grease to it.

I considered elbow grease but there's all sorts of gears and crap in there!

Use a can or two of brake cleaner.
