210mm diff is overkill unless you are shattering 188mm's.
if you are shattering 188mm frequently and have less than 1,000hp then perhaps work on the launch technique>?
IF you OEM diff is setup properly there will be no issues. If not setup perfect even a ford 9" rear will die.
turbocharged M3's only have issues with rear diff when the owners neglect it. usually the internals get worn to shite, bolt heads shear+drop out and everything explodes. This is called irresponsible owner... similar to money shifting but completely preventable.
100% Original 188mm ring and pinion, built OEM diff and DSS axels+stubs have been proven to low 9's and 1,000 rwhp. drag racing with big slicks and brutal launching on anti lag.
yes, Stock ring and pinion - untreated. Stock LSD built with high lock multi clutch conversion - will take passes with big slicks untill the clutch discs simply wear out. (about 10 miles worth of drag racing passes)
if the car is a drag only car, then do a ford 9" with 4 link live axel rear? time to chop chop chop for better 60 foot times.Last edited by Wanganstyle; 01-26-2012, 09:48 AM.OBD1 M54/M52TU swap as a M50b25
