Hood insulator w/ M60 swap?

Curious about those of you who've put a M60 in, have you left the stock hood insulator in place, or removed? I'm wondering if the stock one will hit the plenum cover, i can see spots where the old B27 rubbed on it.

I took the insulation off of mine. without the engine cover, the insulation fit, but with the cover, it rubbed.

Egg crate foam or the other style? My car has the egg crate kind and the hood is very warm to the touch after itís been running for even as little as 15 minutes.
