    towing question

    Hey Guys,

I was wondering what the maximum towing weight is for a 1990 325i Convertible. I at work and left my owners manual in my garage. I am planning a move soon and would rather get a tow behind and make a few small trips than a full on drivable truck. Opinions?

my dad just put one on a few months ago on his 92 cabbie, i couldent get a definite number from him but he said his hitch is rated at 1500 pounds. he hauled an engine, tranny and axle home a bit ago and said he wouldent haul any more than that

Ill just be hauling a bed, dresser, desk, clothes, stuff like that. A few small trips should do it.

If it makes a difference, I have a hardtop attached.

The guy at Uhaul said that you can typically tow any vehichle that is no larger and/or bigger than the one that is doing the towing. Of course some vehicles can safely tow more than 3 to 4 times their weight but for the most part, anything that is lighter than another E30 poses no real problem.
