Alright, well i'm still on my saga with my head. One broken rocker arm, and parents won't let me take off my head, so i gotta have someone else do it.
People have advised me that if one broke, the others aren't far behind. And i definately plan on owning this car for at least 4 more years, so it'd make sense to fix it right this time.
The camshaft seems a lil worn. So i want to replace it, with msot likely a 278/274 with 11.2mm of lift ?? Nothing too wild...... (I'd replace it anyway, as i have to go through the trouble of taking the head off anyway, and want some satsifaction from doing it.) 8)
Alright, so what all parts should I have replaced? I'm doing all the rocker arms. I've read that the hydraulic lifters should be done with cam - how many are there - 12 right?
What about:
Rocker arm shafts?
Valve seam seals - most likely i will.
Clean valves.
Valve springs? - Performance replacements? $$?
Retainers?
etc. etc.
In case you're wonderin, i did check my headbolts and they are the flawed variety. And i did get a new set.
I'll be glad to finally get this over with. :) I'm prepared to spend some money to fix this right, but don't want to get carried away. So please advise me on what should be done when i have my head off.
P.s. my future plans in the coming years include 9.7 CR pistons, possibly 85mm bore, will a 278/274 compliment this well? (I'm not into strokers that much)
