Looks good Jordan. When do you expect this to be in the car and running?

matt's 2.8 was low compression for this turbo. He ran around for awhile with the n/a low c/r engine to break it in prior to boosting the shit out of it.

Hopefully end of March, early April.

Not really, when it was NA, my engine had a stock head, stock flywheel/clutch, stock everything while I was breaking it in, I did have an FPR and 19lb injectors. The biggest thing the stopped me from getting power was 8.5:1 compression pistons.... I will expect Jordan to be waaay above what my horsepower was, his engine will be totally balanced, ported head, lightened flywheel, plus many other things. If he adds some sort of engine management later on, I would expect to see even better gains.

Makes more sense now. Thanks Jordan/Matt.

JE will make you pistons in any bore and compression ration you want. They are made to order from solid blocks of aluminum :)

                $899 for a set of 6 for m20.

Send the total seal rings back and get some regular style rings unless you love burning oil.

This will also be the start of building my 325i motor, to replace the eta.

Jordan is donating his block, in return for my donation of a block for his 2.8.

Care to go further in depth there? I know plenty of guys running Total Seal rings without any problems.

                            What rings would you reccommend?

The total seals seal so good that some people have problems with oil being sucked through the valve guides, any moly faced file fit ring kit that comes with any high end piston kit is good enough. If you do decide to use the total seals make sure you get their Quickseat Ring Powder to help seat the rings. do you have gapless top or bottom ring?

I've seen Total Seal work good on smaller M10 based engines.

I've also heard Total Seal doesn't work as well on larger M20/M30 engines. But I don't have firsthand knowledge.

I would personally use OG Deves or Schottle piston rings.....

What do you guys use at SBI for engine rebuilds????

PS: Thanks for the quick credit for the oil pan baffle I returned a few weeks ago.
