Ever since I did my auto>5spd swap, 3rd gear has upshifted flawlessly but is slow to downshift.I replaced all the external bushings at the time I did the swap along with the seals and fresh MTL. Logically the dog leg shift shift be more problematic than the straight forward shift so am wondering if the syncro uses the same wear surface for up and down in which case it could be an internal shaft bushing.
Keep in mind I have a JB Racing flywheel so my revs do drop fast, hence asking more from the synco, but then that effect should present itself in every gear not just 3rd.
Any thoughts ?
