    I'm curious to see how this turns out as well! 35X ECUs aren't very common so I don't get to mess with many. I do know the 173 chip/software works fine in them though

      I'll try the stock 173 chip in it this week. I know my injectors need to be cleaned so the results might not be conclusive. I'll need a week to let the ECU adapt as well since the car mostly sits these days. My rear seal on the tranny is leaking so I have been driving my ti.

      I'll be on it once we start getting weather at least in the 50's up here...BRRRR...ask me about my 5-speed conversion in the snow bank...the slushbox finally decided to blow in late February, but my buddy let me do the work on his land. Very cold up here this year!

        so what cars exactly did 173s come in or does it vary from car to car?
        I'm am going to get one from a junkyard but I would like to narrow it down a little to save time....I know it has to be 87-91 but do I have phisicaly check the back of each dme until I find one that ends in 173

          Any 325i AFAIK (cabrio, i, iS) - not sure about E34 5-series with M20. No 325e will have it.

            Heh. Well, for the record, I just fixed a bad idle in our new auto (for now) iX by swapping the 351 for a 173. I guess you can add me to the 351 poor idle club.
