    Shifter rub/scrape

Whenever I'm moving and I downshift from 3rd to 2nd in my 325i, theres a scraping noise that can be replicated by putting it in neutral while moving and moving it to the left (just lightly touching the side position, not trying to put it into reverse). Not much force at all is needed to hear the rub, and as I said it usually happens briefly as I downshift into 2nd. The shifter is stock to my knowledge, what could be hitting and what should I replace or be looking at?

likely the driveshaft. Make sure that the shifter linkage/bushings are in the correct mounting points. If you find you have an aftermarket linkage/shifter, you may want to change it.
