1990 325i Vert Battery vent tube?

    All
Just replaced the battery in my 1990 325i vert. The old battery had no vent tube but I noticed a lot of battery acid corroding the tray. I neutralized the acid and replanted the tray and now am about to replace the battery. My question is do I need to get a battery vent tube for my engine mounted battery. If so, where do I route the tube?

I may be wrong, but i don't think you need the vent tube anywhere since the battery is under the hood instead of "in" the car like it is in sedans/coupes. That being said if your battery actually does have a tube sticking out of it, you could route it towards the ground, just in case anything does leak so it doesn't corrode anything.
