    I did it a few times, both wheels and (if you have a big frame) seat off. Then the whole thing will tuck into the trunk.

    Then I bought a roof rack, now I can carry 3 bikes at once!

      Your best bet for a roofrack is going to be these forums, VWvortex, ebay, and craigslist. You need rain gutter style feet, which are reasonably common.

        Check this out. On my track car (2dr) i put a fork mount on the floor board of the passenger seat.. ofcourse i had neither pass or rear seat. I just mounted my mt. bike there, put the wheel pump and gear in the trunk and went off. The reason i did this was so i can lock my bike inside the car.
        No more e30s for me.

          Yes. Wheels off, in trunk, frame in backseat. I've done it several times with my Cannondale Prophet. Get a rack, doing this more than once a week becomes annoying.
