    Medium case axles

Just installed a medium case diff, having a hell of a time locating a set of axles to install. If anyone has a part number or a set they want to sell let me know. Thank you

I have a set as well. Small case and medium case axles are the same.

WRONG! Small case axles are a bit longer to make up the difference in width of the diffs. Although the small case axles may physically fit, under full suspension stresses that extra length can result in failure.
The difference between porcupines and BMWs is that porcupines have the pricks on the outside!

I think he is referring to the axles and not the flanges. Flanges are different in the small and medium diffs. I think the axles are the same.
OP need to clarify if the flanges needed or the axles.

Sorry, should have mentioned the issue is the output flanges. The medium case flanges measures roughly 4 1/2” and the small case flanges measures roughly 4”. I’m looking for a set of axles to mate up to the larger output flanges, or another solution to make this diff work

That medium flange doesnt seem right. It looks like either the large case or from e36. Did you have 5 lugs?

                  Nope, you are incorrect.

The diffs are the same width and therefore the axles are the same length. If you look this up on E30 zone wiki you will realize this.

I've swapped diffs from both and have never had an issue.

You will need to identify what diff you have, which output flange, and which drive axle you have before. The picture you have with the 4" diameter is for e30s but can't tell if for small or medium case. The flange diameter is the same for small and medium e30 cases. The picture with 4 1/2" diameter does not appear to be for e30s. Make sure you know what you're asking for.
