It's an email scam that has been around damn near 10 years. Get a fucking clue.

yeah, theres this, and also the " 2000 m5 20k only $15000!!!!!". saw one of those on CL the other day, and emailed the guy calling him a fuckin lowlife scammer. then he came back with some crap about having to leave the country, took the car with him, but cant keep it there and will ship it back here, BLAH BLAH BLAH.

i couldnt read the email but this is probably one of the "nigerian scams". If you search on google you'll find plenty of info about them.

but, there are people who scambait the scammers with some pretty hilarious results. my roommate who parts out vw's has a few of the fake money orders hanging up in his shop from the people who he "agreed" to deal with.

then there's www.419eater.com, if you go to their trophy room there's some funny pictures where they got the scammers to hold up signs to prove that they were legit.

I was reading on DTM about these guys. I can't wait for the day I get to waste at least six months of there prescious samming time!!!

they acually dont want your car, they want your address so they can send you a check, once you recieve the check and put it in your acount the bank will hold it till it clears (it will never clear) a few days later the bank calls you and tells you that the check was fake, by then the scammer has used his check number tracking system and has cleaned out your acount (if there is anything in it) its a pretty advanced scam, happens everday, its more directed towards your bank, they usually wont except an out of country cashiers check, try it for fun if youd like, all banks have insurance and will replace any money taken and set you up with a new acount #, after all it is their fault for accepting the check. when i tried to sell my jetta vr in the want ads i got more emails from Acrado Desloco and his friends then acuall potential buyers, they are fun to play with, they usaualy ask "whats your lowest price" you can tell them 70k even though the add says 5k, they ALWAYS agree, try it out it you have a p.o box, its cool to get a 70k check in your name, its a good conversaition piece

Whenever I sell something on craigslist I always get this. Some guy was offering like $10k for some 20 dollar birds I was trying to get rid of. Next time I will go along with it just so I can have the check to frame.
