Stumbled across this video on YouTube this morning:

What a great reference for re-building your diff! He has a few other e30 videos as well.

    I wonder who it is?

I get the feeling he's doing it mostly for youtube views, and you might be better served using another source for your "rebuild" of anything he does. I was suspriced to see him actually pressing in a new bearing on that one.

His e30 alternator rebuild video, he didn't do much to, just a clean and reassemble. He did replace the brushes, but then reused the v-regulator. He spent more on his paint and water bill, and yet skipped a $10 part. So, yea. It's fun to watch, but don't take it as a DIY. Just my 2 cents.

Also, the guy sucks at cleaning parts. Someone send him some simple green and a gallon of diesel to soak parts in overnight. He breaks out a dremel with a tiny wire wheel way to offten. That just scratches the crap out of stuff, and so many better ways to "restore" parts.

That's why I said it was a good reference, not a DIY. It's not even in the format of a DIY.

But if you get your diff all apart and then are wondering how something goes back together, this video could be of help.

Didn't use the word DIY anywhere. As in, I didn't say it was a DIY.

"What a great reference!" vs "DIY!"....same diff-erence. (see what I did there?)

Yes I watched it numerous times as my diff is currently out. It's not a DIY video but as mentioned a great reference to assembly. it would be nice to have a link to the supplier of those parts too.

I stand corrected there is reference to the supplier.
