it depends on if you are moving or if you are sitting. If you are sitting still it could be 70c. If you are moving it drops, but still a 20-40c difference.

that is comparing an unshielded filter to a shielded one. Unshielded simply sucks air from the hot radiator..

I must say this looks much better than my open top heat shield.

Nice finish on that part. Too many people make stuff that is half-assed - it drives me crazy. I really like it when someone pays attention to details. Hats off to you.

Thanks for the gesture. Detail is extremely important when making custom parts, their is no point of making something if you don't do it right. Thanks again

I believe Chris is making one for a member this week. No matter what you have to shorten the bimmerworld boot for it to work. If you don't want to do that, then no it wont work.

Thats what I was going to do originally. Then I saw how much I was going to have to cut my bimmerworld boot and decided to go buy a 3inch boot from the dealer and stretch it over my 3.5inch MAF. That picture of mine is with a 3.5inch MAF though.

That's what a lot of people do, just buy a new boot with fresh rubber and use some thin screwdrivers to stretch the boot over the MAF. It took be about 30 minutes to do it by myself, if you have a third hand you could probably do it in 5 minutes.

I did that on my swap car too. ;)

I had a feeling that was going to be the case. I would still be curious to see what Chris comes up with for that member. Hopefully he'll post pics.

Heat up the boot with a lightbulb and it will stretch right on.

What I could also do is supply you guy's with a 3.5'' sleeve witch would relocate the MAF, then your MAF would sit inside the box for those of you that wouldn't want to cut that very nice boot. Because what I was thinking of doing is shorting the box, but I thought that would have been a bit strange, but let me know what you guy's think. :p
