ICV to engine connection - what type of sealant?

I'm replacing the cracked rubber elbow that connects the ICV to my engine on a 2.5 liter.

The metal joint that the rubber hose connects to on the engine does not seem to have a good seal to the rest of the intake. It pulls out easily.

What type of sealant should I use to secure this connection?

I see some residual debris on the joint that looks like it was some type of chemical/gasket/teflontape/sealant.

Isn’t epoxy for bonding vs making an airtight seal?

Permatex non hardening aviation cement seals anything where there isn't a huge gap and you can still dissemble it later.

I used JB weld on all the press tubes on the intake and it's been holding fine. 3yrs of NA operation + 6 months (3,000 miles) on a turbo build.

While I putted some high temp, gray color gasket sealant around the connection area, I don't think that should be a cause of vacuum leak.
