Well, I got it fixed. I found a MKIII 2.0L Jetta and got the coil to distributor line from it.
Pics below. First is what happened, second is how I jury-rigged it to still run. Just some duct tape LOL... ran fine for two days! :)
So, I talked to the auto shop teacher at the high school I was at the other day when I was fixing this, and he suggested checking the resistance of the plug wires and coil. His thought was that some excessive resistance could have caused this.
What do you guys think? I found the procedure in Bentley, but I'm a little confused about checking the resistance of the spark plug end connectors... do I just stick the probes into the shielding on either side?
