I have a 1991 318is. I installed a coil on plug conversion, and now have a 1271 code. The car runs fine, and will do my own diagnosis, but my problem is with the code. It pulls fine with the stomp test, but I CANNOT for the life of me get this code to clear. I tried clearing with the stomp test, and disconnecting the battery. Any ideas how to clear said code? Thanks in advance.

Update: I found out how to clear the codes on this vehicle (Motronic 1.7).
1: turn key on, and press gas pedal to floor 5 times
2: when it starts blinking the codes with the CEL, press 5 times again.
3: hold pedal for 10 seconds. this will clear it.
most instructions don't include step 2 but this is the magic step this car was missing.
