yes, I know the bentley manual and all sane advice states that you have to split the manual transmission to replace the input shaft bearing....
but... It's a lemons car, and as such it's blown up several transmissions in the past few races for "reasons" (including the guibo failing and the driveshaft going all helicopter and breaking one transmission in 2 and cutting a hole in the tunnel like a tuna can) anyway, the trans that's in it now went in the day before a 16 hour race, it shifted beautifully until the input shaft started making noise at hour 15.5 ( and yes we just continued to drive on it to the checker flag)
anyway, I don't want to find a 4 replacement transmission, is there any ill conceived way to just pull the damn bearing from the front? (IE drill into the race and use a slide hammer puller etc. (yes I know... it'll introduce metal into the trans case yada yada yada.... it's a damn lemons car!
