    Rear wheel bearings m20 e30 1988

    Ok Guys

If my rear wheel bearings were shot, does anyone know what the circumstances would be. Is there some warning signs? Noises of some type? Slight vibration? If you have'nt experienced this situation, do not reply..
    Thanks Barry

It is a howl or a drone that is rpm depenent. I drove on mine for several years making noise without any failures. I finally replaced them just because I figured I could only push them so long.

You don't need to do them in pairs though, you can just replace the one that is bad. I just did both because my 325i was at close to 200k.

Why is this in the m3 technical section?

He probably just mistook it as Technical & Discussion.

DANGER!! I recommend you use http://www.harborfreight.com/fwd-fro...ers-66829.html

Otherwise you will eff up the bearing. Ask me how i know.

Well I don't recommend using anything from ebay, there is a reason its half the price of everyone else.

Never had a problem with Ebay so far.
I have seen these bearings as high as 110.00 ea with less warrantee
                        Thanks Barry

FAG FTW, The stupid SKF bearing which costs more pops apart when installing it if you don't support the back side of the bearing. The FAGs hold together fine.

Where can I get some of these FAG bearings?
West German BMWs, they just don't make the same as they did before the wall fell.
^Case in point: Auto-Repair Technology. Everytime my car isn't starting or acting up I let it sit, sometimes for an hour, sometimes for days. But it eventually fixes itself.
