Thanks, already have an account on defendersource. Hoping to purchase my first RRC within the next month, probably a manual diesel one

That's what I've got. A RRC with a 5-speed and the VM diesel.

Guys covered the useful forums already. There's lots of Defender tech that can transfer over to the RRC. And a lot of the RRC forums focus on fixes for problems with the ABS, air suspension, electric seat computers, and V8 problems that you and I won't have.

        The forums I read are:
        Expedition Forum
        Defender Source
        NAS-ROW
        the RRC section of RangeRovers.net

FWIW, mine should look like this in another month or so.

Is that an early 2-door? That's a rare beast, no? Nice.

The white one is set up nicely.

My green one is actually a 1992. I bought it out of Spain. Don't know if you consider that early or not, I'd consider that pretty late as far as Range Rover Classics go. It's the last year for the VM engine. The 1993 models got the 200tdi which made less power, more noise, and didn't have the longevity.

The earlier models had a host of external detail differences. From non-wraparound bumper ends, mirrors bolted to the doors (instead of the integrated mirrors), wing windows, no door over the fuel cap, vertical slats in the grille, and some minor badging differences.

The fun part is that there are so many parts built for them. And many cross over from the Discovery 1 and Defender. Being an engine swapper, I'm eyeballing a kit that puts an LS and 6L80e in place of the Rover engine.

Oh yeah, I didn't know they made the 2-door that late. The ones I've seen were very basic like you said - simple bumpers, no gas lid, vertical grille. They were more like a very sophisticated version of the early Bronco. Yours looks great.

The blue one is my son's first RRC at LaMorna Garage in Seattle, where it became an organ donor. That thing was worn out.

I kept asking car owner Jason Shalders and his build partner Chris Isaacs the same question – just to be sure I’d heard properly: you’ve got a classic 1966 MGB GT you’re building to FIA GT3 specification? And you’re aiming for the Nürburgring street-legal car lap record? And sorry to have to ask again, but …

For whatever reason, no one seems to document their work on this forum. I would love to see the restoration progress of some of the amazing clocks all you members have out there. As a result, with this thread, I hope to start a new trend here as well as keep a record of what has been done to...
