    Rear spoiler repair

My 91' 318is came with a factory rear spoiler which need restoration. There are micro cracks all over the paint and a couple of areas in the center that have some gouges. I am not sure if something fell on it or over the years it lost paint and was sun baked which caused those areas to sag.

Has anyone attempted to repair theirs and what is the best way to tackle this? I sanded off most of the cracked paint to a smooth black surface underneath but not sure how to tackle the deep imperfections. The spoiler appears to be made from sort type of rubber because it feels quite soft.

I've thought about using Permatex plastic weld epoxy to fill in the bad spots but not sure if it would stick or last since the rest of the part is flexible. The areas are deep enough to where I feel simply sanding them down wouldn't be sufficient and would require quite a bit of sanding to achieve flat surface.

I am attaching a couple pics of the damage.

    Any suggestions?
