Thanks for the compliment. All PMs replied to.

Quick backstory on my E30 - I did a fly in to Savannah and drive home to Philadelphia when I purchased this car almost three years ago. The car had been a Southern car its whole life, and I was tired of looking at rusted out East coast examples, so I bought this car with hopes of making it a DD. While the PO made some beautiful improvements to the car, they were mostly cosmetic - including windows out Delphin paint and BMW correct Cardinal interior. The sport seats look brand new and are incredibly comfortable.

I have done several 500 mile days in this car and with the refurbished seats and ice-cold A/C, this car is a very capable road trip vehicle. In fact, I would not hesitate for the next owner to do a fly in and drive home. The oil is fresh, the tires have lots of meat on them, and the salt is off the roads in PA.

So why am I selling? I invested quite a bit of time and over $16k in mechanical and OEM+ upgrades to make this car drive like new. When I was working with my mechanic to do the mechanical updates and upgrades, I was thinking of creating a 32 year old DD. No expense was spared and my mechanics had the green light to fix anything “while you’re in there.”

But truth be told, I couldn’t bring myself to expose this car to the elements of NE daily driving. It’s just too nice. So, it has become a bit of a garage queen, joining a G50 coupe as a sunny day driver and show car. I’m opening up space in the warehouse this spring for an E46M3, so I’d like to pass this car on to the next caretaker.

If you would like a walk around or cold start or driving video, PM me and I would be happy to oblige. Or plan a trip to Philly! Fly in, I’ll pick you up at the airport. Come do the whole historic tour, see the cherry blossoms (which are just a couple of weeks away), and then drive home. Clear title in my name and March 2019 PPI in hand.

I know what you mean@Fasteddie222. The Cardinal seats are oh-so-80s, in the best possible way. Although there were lower mile examples available when I bought this car, the color combo and solid condition on this car were what sold me. The Delphin and Cardinal just pops and the car drives with no rattles or squeaks. And remember, in the 80s, grey was a pretty rare color in the sea of reds, whites and bronzits. Of course, the modern production color palette of most car makers leans heavily towards grey and silver, so that is easy to forget. In the dozens of car related events that I've entered this car - including BMWCCA vintage events and Radwood - I've yet to encounter another Delphin and Cardinal combo.

Thanks to JB for coming down from NYC on Thursday to check out the car. While I wish we could have made a deal after taking the E30 on a backroads tour of the area on an exceptionally beautiful spring day, I understand that you’ve got to sell your 1982 528i Euro Grey market car first to open up a garage space. Those Alpina wheels you’ve got on it are cool! Maybe you can chime in on the condition and driving dynamics of my E30 when you get a chance after your thorough top to bottom inspection. It was fun to watch you in my rear view mirror as you chased me in my air cooled Carrera [emoji1360]

                        Wow

Hi, the car is gorgeous! I have a Delphin '87 325is that I bought last year that is, sadly, automatic. I also have an '89 ix (auto) and I've recently been thinking to sell both and buy something perfect. Looks I may have found it! What is the green toggle switch beneath the dash for? I am super tempted to buy your car. I may have to fly/ drive down from Ottawa and have a look.
I just have to think about all the financial logistics (too bad the exchange rate is so lousy (for me).

                        Cheers,
                        Omar.

P.S. Why did you swap out the steering wheel for that Mofo? The original M-tech wheels are so classic

Thanks for the kind words. C’mon down for a test drive Omar! I retained the stock steering wheel if the new owner prefers that to the Momo steering wheel. Personally, I like the smaller diameter Momo steering wheel coupled with the Zionsville shorter steering rack from the Z3 that my Indy shop installed for me. It is so tight and responsive. To my eye, the Momo wheel fits the stock aesthetic of the car. I know there are some folks who even swap the Momo horn button for a BMW Roundel button.
