Reman front axles for $200 total from Detroit Axle

Alright guys; we know how expensive the front axles on our cars are. I know someone that is buying a set or atleast one. Hopefully they fit. If so hopefully there decent quality?. Anyone have these, tempting to buy a set just to see if they are worth a damn. Just from the pictures they look good but that isn't indicative of quality.

    Drivers side (left axle)

    Passenger side (right axle)

Man, it sounds really good. Maybe it's too good to be true. Why don't you buy one side and try it out. If it seems to hold up, throw a hondo at the other side. You can't even buy used ones for that price. I wonder if there is a core fee?

Well, I bought a P/S axle from them. Says they are remanufacture then maybe they are bmw. Who knows... could be taking a plunge into a pile of shit. If they atleast fit I'll be impressed. I'll compare the OE to this.. I'll keep everyone updated..

Oh yeah; No core fee.. Free Shipping. Hell It'd cost that just to ship some used ones...

Does anyone know a good source for just the cv joints?

Hmmm, I might just have to be the guinea pig on these. I really need to do my front axles and I'm to lazy/cheap to get them shipped out

I used detroit axle via amazon to buy a "reman" power steering rack for my gf's 98 ford explorer. As my first project on the explorer, it took me 10 hours to do. The v8 and awd make a great combination in regards to space. Imagine my happiness when it leaked immediately. They sent me another and I sent this one (and the original core) back, this time it took me 6 hours, but I was still pretty pissed about the situation.

Their idea of "reman" is spray painting the whole thing gray and putting new boots on it.

I told myself I wouldn't buy their products again, but that is a really good price.

Yeah, me and someone I know both bought P/S axles as guinea pigs per say. They should be here this coming week. I'll probably pull the boots off to inspect and then see if they fit... Plan is to install this weekend, or at least get some side by side comparison.

Yeah I'm still a little skeptical: you'll just have to wait until I get mine. First thing I'll do is pull the outer boot off and inspect the condition of the cage

I've got 3 OE used e30 IX axles that I don't need any more as I no longer have the IX. I had picked them up as spares and never needed them. Two are pass side front axles and 1 driver side front. One of the pass sides is in VG condition, boots not torn. The other pass side and the driver side have 1 torn boot each. My indy mechanic checked all of them and says they are all in good condition. I trust him but can't confirm since I never had them installed in my car. I'd like to sell all three as a set, I'd like to get $600. If you are interested or have questions or want pic, shoot me a PM.

Interesting choice of a thread to post a for sale ad. In the original post a site is offering new axles with a lifetime warranty for $100. Are you aware of that?

I offer $150 for your stash of 3 used axles.

Wow. Nothing to lose here! I just bought a pair for the heck of it. If they're good I'm sure they'll get gobbled up quickly. Fingers crossed!

You guys probably know this, but based on the factory's list price and BMW of Atlanta's discounted price on the net, I thought my asking price to be reasonable. I appreciate any offers, however can't let all 3 axles go for $150.
