    Hirschmann or Metra power antenna

So I really want the antenna on my car to work. Yes, I realize that I can convert it to the manual version but I enjoy the 80's nostalgic wizardry behind having it work. Has anyone replaced the oem antenna with one of the 2 aftermarket ones mentioned in the title? Also is there a write up available?

The search yielded no reward (just a bunch of different threads I found unhelpful).

I put a new Hirschmann in my car a few months ago, nothing really to say about it, it works great, mounting was easy enough with the provided strap. It goes about 2’ above the roof of the car and makes it look like it’s RC as you drive down the road.

Is there a particular model number you used?

I replaced my mast with a Hirschmann - Pelican Parts
Part # 65-22-1-466-360-M50. Works great, fairly easy to replace, same length as original. The little disc on the mast tip is thinner than the original; I liked the original a bit better but it's nbd I think.
