Your E30 (in Oregon) is about to cost you $1000 more every 5 years.
Register your car as a antique if its older than 25 years.
We already have all of the E30's we own with SP plates, so it's not going to affect us. BUT, it's still a dangerous path to let them walk down.
The key to fighting this kind of legislature is painting it as marginalizing a section of our society (i.e. low income, age/race discrimination..etc.) get those groups behind the fight.
Problem is, Portland's rep is such a toolbag/car hater that he will offer ZERO help if it doesn't benefit his appearance of being a SJW.
"In Oregon, vehicle qualifies as an antique vehicle if the vehicle is older than half the number of years between the current year and 1900. A special interest vehicle is one which is at least 25 years old or is a Street Rod manufactured before 1949 or made to look like one."

A proposal in the Oregon House of Representatives would require owners of cars 20 years or older to pay a $1000 tax every 5 years.
looks like it was turned down?
fuckin government.
Maybe think about the people who drive old cars, id say most cant afford new cars.
Since they cant afford new thing, we will tax them.
Government, making it harder to get out of the lower class
I also hear they are pushing to start salting the roads. so not only will you be taxed but you car will turn to Swiss cheese

Couldn't agree with this anymore than I already do. Europe sounds more appealing a little each day.
Love the picture they used in that KOIN story: "Older cars in a field"
DERP.. Because that's only what was going to be affected by this, 70's Firebirds.. I know math is not as high on the Public School's list as say Equality, but 20 years is only 1997. And there is a bunch of Late 90's cars I see on my day to day.
