    Rear wheel bearings

So every auction on ebay talks about rear wheel bearings on their application charts as 9/85 and newer models. I did some looking once upon a time and came up with the following:

according to skf's parts catalog : linky

The rear wheel bearing to before 9/1985 is GRW230,
    CONST DBALLG1
    GEN-MSG1 SKF# BA2B309639BA
    GEN-MSG2 DOUBLE SEALED BALL BEARING
    ID 1.5354
    OD 2.8346
    PRI A
    PRI-PRNT Y
    RAMS 4310
    SMAC 5041
    TYPE C9
    WEIGHT 1.2000
    WIDTH 1.4567

    after 9/1985 its GRW231
    CONST DBALLG1
    GEN-MSG2 SKF# BAHB311424A
    ID 1.6535
    OD 2.9528
    PRI A
    PRI-PRNT Y
    RAMS 4310
    SMAC 5041
    TYPE C9
    WEIGHT 1.3550
    WIDTH 1.4567

I have a pre 9/85 car and was wondering what the difference between the two bearings were. It seems from this that the inner and outer diameters are different sizes.

Looking at this realoem link, the hub and all the little pieces except the outer two are different.

Does that mean my subframe is different?
How about my half-shafts/axles/whatever u call 'em?
Are the smaller, pre 1985 bearings a liability if I put say 250hp to the ground?
    Anyone?

I think it has something to do with ABS on the later cars.
