    E30 M3 Suspension Conversion

    Hey R3V-

I'm parting ways with my E30 M3 5 lug stuff because my car is finished and I don't want to redo the suspension again. A lot of this stuff is new, and a lot of time was spent getting small parts put together.

Front suspension: These housings were for sale on R3V not too long ago and I bought them. One of the housings is good with a coilover perch welded on, straight with good threads, etc and the other needs work.

The housing that needs work has three issues. The tube was cut to relieve a seized strut, a hole was drilled in the bottom to hammer the strut out, and the spindle threads are worn.

    Good news is this:

    1) I spoke with a local machine shop and he said the threads are an easy fix with a dye (M30x1.5). I had it at his shop for a month and he was too busy to mess with it so I picked it up today unfinished to get these sold.

    2) Ground Control does their coilovers by cutting off the entire stock strut tube and welding on their custom fabricated tube to the M3 knuckle/spindle. Thus, the 'cut' down the side of the damaged tube doesn't matter. Their price for this service is very reasonable, at $270 for the pair, including powdercoat and reinforcement.

    Front parts included:

-Two front E30 M3 strut tubes
-Two tie rod levers (now NLA $$$$)
    -Two dust shields
    -Two new front hubs
-Two new axle nuts and dust covers
    -Misc spare parts

    Rear Suspension

The rear E30 M3 conversion is straightforward and all parts are new. Hubs have a touch of surface rust from sitting. 30 seconds and that is remedied.

    -OEM E30 M3 Rear Hubs (33412225510) - $250.42ea
    -FAG E30 M3 Rear Wheel Bearings (33416762317) - $46.10ea
    -OEM Bearing Securing Clips (33411138648) - $4.75ea
    -Febi Axle Nuts (33411125664) - $3.49ea
    -Axle Nut Locking Plates (33411124945) - $3.30ea

    Total: $616.12

My price for the whole shebang, front and rear is SOLD $1500 shipped SOLD. I feel this is very fair considering everything it comes with. A quick trip to the machine shop, send the front housings to Ground Control and you've got your dream suspension.

I also have an E30M3 front and rear Superlite BBK that I can give you a good deal on if you want to purchase it all together.

Are you keeping the fronts? Because honestly I really want to find some front tubes that are already cut up.

Yes I'm selling the fronts eventually- they're at the machine shop and will be all fancy and ready for coilovers when I list them with fresh hubs, dust shields, levers, etc.

Okay well depending on the price and if the rears are still available I'm interested in everything.

Sounds good! The fronts may be a while and I don't really know what I'm going to list them at yet, which is why I was trying to sell the rears first. I'll keep you posted.

I am very good (borderline professional) at buying parts impulsively, changing plans, and then selling off everything I have. I also have been parting out 4 cars plus an entire 24v build over winter so all of that combined = a stockpile of pretty decent stuff
