i guess you're going to have to clarify which war you mean.

it's well-documented that iraq had nothing to do with 9-11, and they had nothing that was capable of threatening the US, and that's where we've spent most of the money.

i understand why we went to afghanistan originally... but that was almost 9 years ago, and where i'm calling obama out is his lack of a clear mission statement as to why we're still there and what we're trying to accomplish. strangely, that's the one thing he's doing that you *don't* disagree with.

you're never going to understand where i'm coming from unless you remember that i'm the guy who has to go unpleasant places on the govt's say-so, and based on that i think there had better be a pretty fucking good reason.

speaking of "not even an argument"...
Yeah, I didn't think you did see your own hypocrisy, otherwise you wouldn't have posted what you did.

Oh, love the blaming of Reagan.

Let's see, federal tax revenues nearly doubled under Reagan.

Guess which party was in charge of spending during that same time?

The same party that deemed almost everyone of Reagan's budget proposals "DOA"

What's proven to work to stimulate an economy is cutting taxes, not borrowing money from China and spending it frivolously like Hope-a-Dope is doing.

And the economy was doing quite well recently under Bush, right up until the time the Dems got control of Congress in 2006

ANd please tell me which Clinton policies lead to the economic boom of the late 1990's?

That economy was nothing but a house of cards built on dot.com speculation and predictably collapsed in March of 2000, when the NASDAQ lost 39% of its value in 15 days. (Right after Clinton sued Microsoft and "won")

Yeah, Clinton suing MS, Gun makers, tobacco companies and other US companies was great for the economy, wasn't it?

so obviously you support the idea that america needs to be the world's police.

      america, fuck yeah.

i really don't care who said what on what side of the aisle, and what you're not getting is that just because i disagree with you doesn't mean i'm a democrat/liberal/progressive/whatever. i have plenty of problems with what obama's doing, but they're not relevant to the current discussion.

if the kurds getting gassed is a good argument for why we're still in iraq, then why haven't we done anything about the genocide in sudan/darfur that has literally reached 3rd-reich-holocaust proportions?

      gee, i wonder.

probably because there isn't any money for halliburton in it, which means dick cheney's pockets don't get lined further.

and i find it interesting that you never addressed the last sentence you quoted- i don't care what senator said we should go to iraq, they were all wrong. you're ignoring my point, which is that that country had nothing to do with 9-11 and they were never a threat to us.

I just love the fact that liberals called Bush a facist, and now the liberals will defend Obama continued facism because its okay cause its there guy they voted for. The last two presidents have been terrible and Bill wasn't that great either.
Someone needs to give Obama a blowjob so we can impeach him.

Right now I'm shaking my head at some of the comments in here. You people who think you are liberals/Democrats are out of your minds. Way back in the day (before Roosevelt) there wasn't much wrong with a liberal or a democrat, they had different opinions sure but they still respected the Constitution. You guys are now Progressives and no thats not a good thing. Its the reason its ok for communists and socialists to be in the White House. The only reason they haven't been able to complete what they have wanted to complete is because the average Joe is conservative and has stood up against this communists/socialist machine.

www.bmw2002faq.com has a "special" section with the people with "special" needs. They call it the "political section". As some people like to continuously repeat the same rant, over and over, like your grand dad who forgot to take his pills, putting all the ranters together in the shed, allow to free up the ambiance in the house...;-)

The issue I see is that when I was a kid that's where I got my ass kicked. When I did something bad. Out behind the wood shed. Yeah I know I must be emotionaly damaged because my parrents disciplined me when I misbehaved right

Just look at the past couple of weeks. We got guys keeping on starting exclusively political threads and ranting the same old thing, without contributing for a iota on e30 content. That you don't accept that somebody outside of YOUR country is allowed to have views should rather beg for an ip block of non-US members. Otherwise, yes, anyone is allowed for an opinion.

I won't aplologize that I'm not a Christian Conservative R3V member even though I don't think that R3V is necessarely Christian Conservative, only a few members with a big ass mouth who talk loud and have a very narrow spectrum of what's happening in the whole wide world... :pimp:

Meanwhile, he says nothing about the Dems and the MSM for demonizing the "tea party" or the union thugs that engage in violence on his behalf or about the death threats against Republicans.

But when he gets a little bit of criticism, he calls for "civility" and to "tone down the rhetoric"

Again, Fuck you Obama. You arrogant POS

Where was Obama when Palin's church was torched by arson?
I didn't hear anyone calling for "civility" on the left or in the media.

I can't believe what a little waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles this guy is.

I hope we don't have a terrorist attack during his term - he might surrender.

Those two asshats deserve to be called out on all the misinformation they spread, anything he can find to demonize the democrats. I'll give them credit for having a huge fanbase, the shitstorm they created over this healthcare was incredible, meanwhile where was the rage when bush rammed through the "freedom of information act" during a midnight bill signing, or the DMCA? If you care about our freedoms, those were MAJOR losses to us. Way worse than some insurance overhaul.

Your fear of a terrorist attack is not surprising for someone with such a deeply seeded hate for the guy in charge. Tell me how it could be worse than to catch him totally sleeping and take down the two most important buildings in our economy. You think somehow our defenses suddenly became totally inept because of who sits in that office? get a grip.

I think it's pretty obvious by this thread's title that it's going to have some strong opinions, some of which might even be (gasp!) inflammatory.

Those of you complaining about the OP posting the thread are no better for replying to him expressing your disdain for him/it.

If you don't like/are tired of political threads, don't click on them. It doesn't get much simpler than that.

i find that amazing, because bush/cheney's world-war-on-terrorism is a big part of the reason we're in this situation.

it really is unbelievable how ideology can make people ignore facts that have been sitting in front of them for almost 10 years now.
Great logical jump... saying one thing cannot have been the driving force of recovery just because something of very few similarities didn't have the same effect. The second WORLD war involved a lot of supplies which we had outgoing before our personal involvement. This created jobs and business, while not suffering negative capital shocks - until pearl harbor that is. But our industries were put to work by the war machine whereas in comparison the war in Iraq and Afghanistan uses much fewer resources - sure technology, aerospace and military equipment, and trained military labor force... but the scale is not even close.

And don't say it is two people's war since it started long before Bush II was president and had bipartisan support (unless the HC bill pushed down our throats).
