I recently purchased a set of these tires from Discount Tire Direct after reading good reviews in both Consumer Reports and Grassroots Motorsports. I purchased 4 tires in the stock tire size on 195/64-R14 (unfortunately, 205/60 is not available). Shipped to my door, they ran less than $300!!
Consumer Reports rated it there #1 all season performance tire, and Grassroots Motorsport rated it #1 out of 5 tires tested on their Miata test car. So I knew they must be pretty good tires, but once I really rang them out I was blown away! The grip is unbelievable, I was able to push my car harder in corners than with any other tire I've ran, period. They gave the car a great planted feeling, they didn't squeal or squirm, and the sidewalls (while still very tall of course) felt stiff enough to give decent communication about the road and what they tires were doing. I took the car out yesterday for a run up my local mountain road, and I just couldn't believe the performance they gave. I never would have imagined that kind of grip and outright cornering speed would be available from anything short of a max-performance summer tire. I easily increased my speed through the tight, 2nd gear corners by 5mph and probably could have upped it even more.
They also ride very quite and smooth around town and on the freeway. I've read mixed reviews about mileage, so we'll see how long these ones last. I'll also have to try them out when the snow flies and update this post. But to those e30 owners who are looking for an excellent all-around tire that offers superior performance without sacrificing usability and comfort, I highly recommend the Ziex 912.
Update: I drove them in the snow today and they did very well. Decent traction on hard, icy snow and even better in softer, fluffy stuff. I was able to drive ok in places where chains were 'required' as long as I kept it slow. They're not Blizzaks, but they work well as all-seasons.
