    Factory color matched rear apron?

On 88+ cars the rear apron that is below the rear bumper generally is body color on top with a lower black section.

Did any cars leave the factory with a completely color matched rear apron? That is the entire rear apron is body color including the area that is usually black on the bottom. I am looking at a car to buy that is supposed to be accident free but the rear apron is 100% body color and I am wondering if this was because it was repainted or if it could be factory.

any help would be appreciated before I fly half way across the country.

I don't want to give any false information but nope, not to my knowledge. They painted it black to also match the black rocker panel.

Thats what I had thought too. Looks like I need more info before I look at this thing.

All US cars came with black bottom rear apron from factory, minus the M3.
