I disagree. If you separate the two, nobody will see the want to buy adds. People don't generally search that section, just the for sale section.

I agree with TJ whole-heartedly.
I loved the old layout. I was simple, and easy on the eyes.
I hate the forums who have dark colors with light colored fonts, just makes things harder to read, for me at least. Also with the screen this narrow there is much more scrolling involved.
I say go back to the way it was.

I'm unsure if V-Bulletin has a layout that looks like the vanilla defualt like phpBB. This theme just doesn't flow well. I'm sure there will be changes and thanks for the hard work to those involved.

I am not recieving email notifications anymore either.

You need to keep selecting to be notified using the drop down menu at the bottom of the screen for "instant email notification". Kinda weird. Mine doesn't seem to my preferred default as before.

Plus now I get 2 email notifcations whenever there has been a post to a thread. Weird.

Obviously this forum isn't going to take a step backward to the old way... we just need to be very understanding of this FREE community we are a member of. James has his work cut out for him still... nothing quite like debugging a website, let alone a forum with hundreds of members and close to 60,000 posts.

I would definitely like to see some user configuration choices for appearance and stuff, but for now if we can just get all of the posts back and the search function working that would be great.

Its never that easy to change around a template guys. Christ, I have had my website running mamboserver, which is pretty similar to this, for almost half a year now and I haven't been able to fix my website template stuff... but I would still rather have that than no mambo server... it makes generating content so easy.

Give James a month or so to work out the bugs... our beloved R3VLimited will be back up to par in no time.

Why do I not remember this button at all? I just manually flipped through every orange folder or file icon finding shit... that does sound like a groovy feature.

Okay colors and layout we don't like, got it, I'll see what I can digup.

We are not going back to phpbb. Hell I can't please everybody, but I'll try my damnest to get us to a level where most are happy.

This is definately one of the worst forum layouts I have ever seen. It's so tacky with all the huge graphics and headers above each and every reply. The colors don't work. The fixed width does not suit a forum like this well, especially when most pictures in member's rides are bigger than the width of the forum.

I didn't think that much of the old layout but its light years better than this. If you decide to stick to this layout, can you make the layout user-selectable so I can still use the old layout?

EDIT: Also, there needs to be a lot more contrast between links and visited links, but I think that goes along with the poor color scheme.

i agree. the format is confusing and too much color. i appreciate the efford but i don't see anything wrong with the old format. just voicing my opinion.

yeah php sucks and vbulletin is much better but it's just the skin everyone hates i guess. i really like my hondas forum layout. 7thgencivic.com you can change the appearence at the bottom of the page i use the ambience skin

I did read your original post... I just didn't understand that the FAQ is now I guess the new search button... my bad... your original post said a few hours... guess we just have different definitions of "few".

yeh..i think the change is nice..

as for everyone else bitching about the damn layout..all you guys can easily go to User CP and go down to "EDIT OPTIONS" then scroll all the way down and you'll see "forum skin" and then select default style..its the closest thing to the original...and for everyone bitching about the width..well the default style stretches out

The forum was in need of a refresh, but it's too busy now. Too much stuff going on on the screen. The old layout was more simple.

I do like the new color scheme though.
