Can you tell me whats the difference between the 272 and 274 camshafts? Will the 272 make more power?

I'm interested in a new head and will be buying in the near future I just want to make sure I get everything planned out before I purchase.

And please excuse my noobish question :)

The 274 cam has more duration and more lift than the 272. The 274 cam will be more noticeable in the higher rpm range as well with a minimal torque loss compared to the 272.

Oh I see.. I have another question :) I wanna keep it N/A but then sometimes I want to turbo it, would it make a difference if I get a coolant jacket welding and keep it N/A or is that only recommended for a turbo setup?

That would not be a problem at all. My 87 327i has the coolant jackets welded and I am running it N/A for the time being. It never reaches above half temp! :)

I prefer to grind a single 45° angle on the valve and seat. This gives more surface area on the seat and is better for heat dissipation.
