    Check panel brake light.

I know it's been asked before and I've done a little searching and founds some answers but I just want some more ideas.

So I have a 89 325is and sometimes when I would put my foot on the brake and let off, the brake lights would stay on. So I replaced the plunger sensor with one from a 325ix ( which I noticed it looked a little bigger than the one I replaced) underneath the dash and that fixed the actual break lights staying on but now the check panel brake light is staying on.

    Any input would help.

check panel brake light means one of your bulbs are burnt out or making a bad connection.

Not the bulbs. But I'll clean up the connections.

Well, it could be the bulbs even if the all light up. An aged bulb that shows darkening of the envelope or a wrong bulb can cause this. The first thing I'd do would be to replace all of the bulbs with ones I get from my dealer.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Only things I can think of:

Brake light pedal sensor (you said you replaced this?). Check the connection, could be loose wires down there as well (happened to me).

Brake light out? Check all your bulbs.

          Brake light wiring failing?

          Fuse?
