You are correct, Supercharged engines benefit very little from "tuned" exhaust headers. With a bit of cam overlap they do a good job of clearing the cylinder of exhaust gas all my them self.

A V12 using chevy LS architecture and some parts. It's fired like 2 V6's nose to tail as opposed to the more traditional 2 inline 6's side by side. Australian company i believe.

Yes - they started out chopping up two LS blocks and welding them together for their prototype, now they are getting new custom blocks cast.

A set of petrolhead brothers, Matt and Shane Corish from Australia, hatched an ambitious plan to construct a V12 LS engine on a production scale.

Not sure if that's a provision for twin-plugs...?

That's quite a motor. I'd like to see the jigs they had to fabricate to cut / align / weld these with.

In that piece, he says the block can handle 1000hp, and it's at 717 now with a very mild tune. By the time people start messing with it, 300hp is not a lot of headroom. Maybe the newer cast blocks have some improvements for strength.

Do you know if there's any licensing problem with casting essentially a copy of "most" of a GM part?

I think it was called the M12 (which must pre-date the M engines as regular ones and S engines as motorsport engines?)

Disclaimer: I don't know anything about Toyota engines.

This guy took two 1JZ straight six engines from JDM Supras, cut them up, and welded them together as a turbocharged V12.

                          It's in Road & Track.

"So without doing much in the way of investigation or measurement, Groff picked up twin 1JZ engines yanked from early-’90s Toyota Supras, cut the blocks just above the oil pan gasket surface, and scratch-built a new crankcase out of TIG-welded 3/4-inch steel. “Where I got lucky is the head bolt pattern is symmetrical,” Groff tells me. “You can flip the head end-for-end. There are 13 oil drain-back holes in the block. Those are what I used to bolt the cylinders to the crankcase."

He is apparently a metal wizard and this is a mock-up of what it's going into...

Thanks. I have to split the credit with Korman. They did a magnificent job on the rebuild. I sourced parts and did some of the plating. Inching closer to putting her back in.
