Down here in Australia, my brother in-law had an 82 build e30.
It came with an M10 engine and CIS like an e21! I think BMW ran out some left-overs from the end of the e21 production run in countries where the emissions laws were a bit lax. By 83 we had L-Jet injection the same as everywhere else. I should have snapped a picture of it as it looked weird with the CIS, but it was in the pre-digital camera era.
I also had a friend with an 84 build e21, which was well after the end of the e21 production run. No idea what the story was with that one.
