    Random stalling issue

My friend has a 1988 325is and it randomly stalls out. Most of the time when it does stall out is after a rain and the car has been sitting. It happens when he puts it in neutral when he is coming to a stop and it bogs down then dies. It also doesn't start right away. He did have his high beams taken out for awhile and then replaced them thinking water was getting into the engine bay through the holes. Any ideas would help him out. Thanks

Aged plug wires and/or a bad distributor cap will be more sensitive to water and might explain this problem. But then it could be anything from an intake leak to a marginal fuel pump.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
