those are good rates. nothing crazy firm, but excellent on the street and track
Mine were 500/700
Actually I just remembered I still had part number on rear spring that I replaced at least. It's a 500.225.650. A lot stiffer than I thought (650 lbs/inch)! I thought it was a lot less stiff as it doesn't feel all that stiffer than my 135i which is running a 700# spring and is ~800 lbs heavier.
Almost 1 year of ownership and sad to report that this e30 will soon be replaced with an e46 m3 :( Would love to hold onto it but no room for so many cars. Can be sold with CA PNO or NV title.

You'll regret it. Store it for a little while and when you get bored of the E46 M3, you will still have the badass little E30 waiting for you

^what 2mAn said. Being e30-less is a mistake I won’t make again.
Some lawyer needs to set up an E30 pawn network where you can sell your car, warehouse it for a year, and buy it back or let it go. I don’t know if pawn is the right word for it, but that seller’s remorse thing seems to be a rite of passage for most E30 people.
My son has the 1987 325e, 2 door, 5speed
I daily the 1989 325i, 4 door, 5speed
