Update: Its CARB Legal! Got the sticker.
$7,000! Doing some family planning / might move and the car has to go. Totally complete 24V swap done right. Its a fully CARB legal swap. Just got the sticker from the Referee. I have receipts for everything. I built this with the intent to daily drive it, so everything was replaced. This car just won't work with a car seat and there are no air bags so the other half says it has to get the boot.
With the exception of the M50 swap the car is un molested, stock radio, everything is original.
Car is a California car with clean title (have carfax), body has 180k on it and the ODO works.
-Rebuilt M50NV out of a 1992 325i
-Engine harness was re pinned to use a new E30 connector, soldered and heat shrunk to new pins. Looks totally factory, no adapters. Overhead check control works even the oil level sensor functions (OEM part from e34 wired through the E30 Connector)(coolant sensor not hooked up because I used a E36 M42 Radiator)
-Manual Transmission (1st gear syncs are worn and I have a freshly re sealed 5 speed that comes with the sale complete with rebuilt driveshaft)
-All new rubber with the swap (Off the top of my head: engine mounts, transmission mounts, lower shift boot, guibo)
-Entirely new coolant system filled with BMW blue coolant (radiator, all hoses, thermostat, thermostat housing)
-Brand new (rebuilt) Bosch alternator and starter
-Spal Electric fan with OEM 80/89* temperature switch to control it
-No AC but have a e36 compressor and retained everything except the condenser up front (had a hole)
-E36 exhaust professionals re worked to fit the E30, you can't tell it wasn't made for it in the first place (see one of my posts on here I put pictures up)
-Porche 944 Booster (firewall is un-molested)
-Brand new clutch hydraulic system
-All new fluids (brake, oil, ps fluid, coolant)
-New OEM shifter linkage (all new bushings pins and I think its a OEM Z4M shift shifter, its really short and I have stock e36 one in parts bin)
-Purple label E46 Steering rack (rebuilt from the rack doctor)
-New PS lines with all crush washers and PS reservoir.
-New Battery
-New Catalytic converter
-Rebuilt the linkages in the seats, all of the levers work.
I have close to 8k into it, I'm afraid to add up all the receipts.
Comes with a huge bin of parts, I gathered a ton of them over the few months I was working on the swap. Ended up with some extras. Have a full set of stock CAMS trays and lifters so you could get the front face of the extra intake one ground down and use it on the exhaust side. Also have a rebuilt M50 A/C compressor and compressor side lines should you want to go down that path.
Computer mounted with factory brackets in glove box.
