Is the '91 318is have a "large" or "small" diff?

If "small", how hard is it to swap the "large" in its place (for example, if there was an engine swap)?

You want to be going from "small" to "medium." As in from m42 to s14 4.10 LSD.

Yup both clutch

e30 m20 and s14 diffs are all medium
