      Looks to be an 1157 bulb.

        Same as the other rear bulbs, except for the taillight - H21W or equivalent. At least on the late cars, the bulb type is molded into the carrier next to the socket. ;)

            so did anyone ever get a working euro light setup installed?
            1991 325iC - Mauritsblau sumthin metallic blue. DEAD

                I went the easy way... I decided to always have mine on with the other lights (no switch and relays), so I just jumped power from the exisiting tail light feed. I used some similar-to-original tin I found laying around to make the bulbs stay in and get electricity (got crafty with notching and soldering - pretty much self explanitory when you are in there). I also opted for a low power (5 watt) bulb.
