    iX Rescue

Hello everyone, I'm new here so take it easy on me please? :D

iX with ~80,000 miles on the clock. Super loud transfer case, bad VC, slipping auto trans, perfect vinyl interior with heated seats.
So here's how she looked when I got it:

Cooked paint anyone? Had surface rust on the top it was so bad.

Also has some driver floor pan damage:

    ....

    .....

    Ahh, much better:

Strippers and 2X's (don't worry it wasn't open near the chemicals)

These pictures don't do any justice for how many hours went into the stripping/ feathering/prep of this entire car. I'm usually a cheap bastard but this was hard enough work I'd consider paying people to do it next time.

    Husky approved

    Primed:

$130 Eastwood single stage Regal Red, then $100 in various things like filler, glaze, sand paper, more sand paper, urethane reducer, primer, prep-all... $250 paint job and still needs to be color sanded/buffed.

I still need to paint the mirrors and hofmeister gills, then attach the rest of the door trim and door handles and it will be done. Color sand/buff will come later this month, along with close up pictures.

    Next on the list:
    215 70 R15 Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S
    Manual Trans/ transfer case
    ...

Nice work! That's kind of impressive an 80000 mile xi with that f'd up of a drive train, PO must not have cared about it that much! Looks like its in good hands, keep up the good work!

          Thanks everyone.

The PO gave me the email of the previous + previous owner, who's name I searched here and found this
          http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=112463
Which is undoubtedly the same exact car.

So one of the owners between him and me ruined the car in the last 4 years or so. It had 2 bald 14's and 2 other mismatching tires, so there's the TC issue for ya...
