    Have a super eta... is my tach OK for “2.7i” conversion?

    I was never clear with what is needed for this conversion re: gauge cluster.

    This is what my cluster/tach looks like now:



    Do I need to source a tach from a 325i? Coding plug as well?

    Another option would also be to acquire an entire cluster from a different car but I’d prefer not to, since mine is original with working gears.

    Let me know what you think.

      Cool, I appreciate the info. Does it matter if the tach/coding plug come from a VDO or Motometer?

        yours would also work as-is but obviously, the stock 6400rpm redline will be past the end of your tach.

        it shouldn't matter if it's VDO/Motometer as long as they're from a late style cluster with the 7-LED service indicator.
