    cluster lights

hello, recently got a '90 316i , its been a great a car and one thing got me wondering. Are the cluster lights actually so dim or are the bulbs dying out or something? If thats stock, are there any brighter aftermarket bulbs? Any information is appreciated

The headlight switch rotates to change the brightness of the lights. Make sure its turned all the way up. When I first bought my car it was turned all the way down and I thought that I would have had to replave the cluster lights or something! Lol

The 194 bulbs are the best to use. They are a little more wattage but safe to use without burning up the inside of the cluster. LED bulbs do not project the light in the same fashion as incandescents so they end up looking worse than a 194 bulb.

Also, a failed dimmer can cause dim cluster. A failing dimmer is super common on all vintage BMW cars.
