2.7 build harness question

So I have a 1987 eta and am building a 2.7 stroker and have most of the parts necessary but I am wondering if I need to get a 1987 i harness or if any year i harness would work. Also, is the 153 or 173 ecu better? Or the same?

87i is plug and play due to the same style C104 plug. Later style will work if you don't mind a little wiring work. Check Pin 20 chassis side on your car. If it's brown, get it out of the way. That's ABS power on the late i harness so you get a short.
