    what will spool faster?

    hi,
i got an E30 turbo going on (w/ S50 engine)
now i need the turbo :P
    so to the question-
what spools faster one big turbo (lets say GT35/40R) or two (twin) smaller turbos?

    p.s
next week (monday) ill get my digi' camera back so youll get some pictures of my baby by next week ;)

Usually when you do twin turbos, you put them in sequence - per say. Twin turbos allow you to remove any turbo lag you may get with a very low compression engine.

If you compare a small turbo to a large one - the smaller one will spool faster.

how the hell can you put that much boost into a high compression engine?

the answer is proper tuning and stand alone engine management

I can give you a better cheaper option. AEM EMS is in the process of being released. and its every bit as powerful as a motec. I own part of a shop in Charlotte NC. www.p1auto.com pm if you would like more info. we are one the premier tuning facilities on the east coast, as well as direct AEM distributors. I'll being going down the same road soon with turbo S50 as well. AEM EMS is my choice

Dude, Bimmerforums' Forced Induction Forum  http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...play.php?f=150

The GT35R is a very popular turbo for the S50 crowd, and quite a few have made 500+++ rwhp with it. Twin-turbos are not popular because of space constraints, the more complicated plumbing, and the excellent response of the modern ball bearing turbos. But seriously, go browse that forum, because I don't know what the hell I'm talking about.

What are your plans for this car? I can't see anybody needing more than 300-400 crank HP in an E30. My friend Brandon's car has close to 500 crank HP in an E30, and its stupid. He can spin the tires into 5th gear. There is no point to it other than bragging rights.
