    Turbo possibility

At the junkyard today, found a '85 5-series turbo diesel. Turbo, exhaust manifold, intake manifold appear intact.

Is this a direct bolt-on to the M20? If not, what mods are required? Intercooling tips? Looks like it would be fairly easy to plumb the turbo to the intercooler, but would you then plumb the intercooler directly to the stock airbox?

finally, what are these parts worth?

    Thanks in advance,

The parts aren't worth much at all, and the manifold is the only part you'd want off it. The manifold works on M20s although the ports don't match up that well and the manifold isn't that great anyways. It's a less than ideal setup.

As for the plumbing, you put the intake on the turbo and the airbox is removed, so you plumb into the throttle body.

    RISING EDGE

Let's drive fast and have fun.
